I have a MAC OS X 10.4.7 - 1.42 GHz PowerPC G4 - 1.5 GB DDR SDRAM
I know this really sounds easy to you but to me it is not. I do a lot of work in InDesign CS, Illustrator CS and Photoshop CS but I want to place my work on the web but I tried exporting my work from IDCS and ILLCS but there's no quality on the outcome of the files specially when working with InDesign CS making a PDF file but when I open it in Photoshop CS the image is jagged even though I do my work @ press settings (130-150 dpi) but I need help on this one so all of you WEB savvy please lend a hand and NO I don't want to do it in Dreamweaver or Freeway Pro it takes too long for me to do them in those two programs.
Thanks for your help!
Juan

Re: ARTWORK FOR WEB !
Tue, August 29, 2006 - 11:46 AMHere's what you do: export your layout from InDesign as a JPEG. In your export settings, specify to downsample all bitmap images to 72 dpi. That should be easy enough. -

Re: ARTWORK FOR WEB !
Tue, August 29, 2006 - 1:57 PMPaul I'm sorry but I have InDesignCS and when I export as a JPG it does not give a me an options window where I can choose to downsample but when I do a PDF it does. When I do PDF's they don't upload at all I think I'm going to have to go with Freeway 4 Pro I've heard is a little faster than Dreamweaver. Can you still help or is this the end of the road for me? it looks so easy when some one else does it!

Re: ARTWORK FOR WEB !
Tue, August 29, 2006 - 2:07 PMAh right, I forgot about that.
I believe when you export as JPG, it automatically downsamples your bitmaps to 72 dpi. So just export, select format (JPG), select your page (or pages with or without spreads), select your quality, and you should be set.
You don't want to use them on the web as PDFs, as they typically don't show up in a browser window, but need to be downloaded and opened in something like Acrobat.
I'm not familiar with Freeway 4 Pro, so I can't comment. -

Re: ARTWORK FOR WEB !
Tue, August 29, 2006 - 2:18 PMFreeway 4 Pro is out for the Mac only I think and it's like the easier version of Dreamweaver although with Dreamweaver you don't have to know HTML and neither does using Freeway 4 so I think a better buy would be Freeway 4 Pro. And thanks for the info it's been very frustrating doing this Digital portfolio but I'm not giving up I still have 'till the Holidays in December to figure this out LOL.
Take care,
Juan
