Sorry for the cross-post, (in ALL ABOUT DESIGN), but I just found/joined this tribe ; )
I'm heading strong into the wonderful world of web design and buying a new laptop in the near future. And this has me wondering what everyone else is using. I'm going with the MacBook Pro, I think (cringing at the price), waiting to buy until after the unknown Apple annoucement on Monday.
What kind of computer are you using for your graphic/web/illustration designing?
I don't work for a corporation, strictly looking for info on what the majority are using.

Re: What type of computer do you have?
Sat, September 9, 2006 - 9:26 PMWell haha it varies a bit:
Primary:
Mac G4 800mhz Quicksilver (2002) | OSX 10.4.7
1GB RAM, 40GB Internal, 80 GB Internal, 200GB External
Secondary/TestBox:
400mhz PC | Windows Small Buisiness Server 2003
512MB RAM, 60GB Internal
Ill be upgrading to a Mac Pro NExt spring after Adobe releases thier Intel Binaries for the flagship apps and hopefully after Mac releases the second gen Mac Pros. Id really like to justify getting a Dell or HP tower server to manage the home network and storage or an Xserve RAID for storage only but really with the mac pros 4x500GB possibilities i have a hard time justifying that extra cost other than the fact that ima a geek and want my house filled with computers hahaha.
