A little off topic but has any of you used voice recognition?
I would like some software for my portable and table computer. I run a small translation office but the translators I have come in touch with locally are not aware of the technology.

Re: Voice recognition
Tue, December 5, 2006 - 11:24 AMI have used Dragon Naturally Speaking with mixed results, once you get it going is ok, but the installation process was a nightmare, it also slows down your computer unless you have tons of RAM. I've heard the latest version is a huge improvement, but haven't had the chance to use it. -

Re: Voice recognition
Tue, December 5, 2006 - 3:29 PMI got an answer from a tribe friend who is a sociology professor and has used it for a full year without trouble. I am definitely getting the latest edition.
I have a 512 Ram Pentium 4 Dell purchased last year.
I am worried about the portable, but Dell sells an edition of Dragon with it.
I can translate. I just can't type quickly enough for my output.
Has anyone tried Skype?
